Owww....

My poor soft office worker's hands!

Too much time at the keyboard these days. Back when I was labouring I had proper leathery man's hands but these days they're just not up to 3 solid days manual work. Tshh!

Well, I've fitted no new kitchen stuff yet, ripping out and replacing old floor took far longer than I expected, still, the worst of it's done now - see pics here

What else - Umm, run the 10k last weeken, missed my PB by 2 seconds! ie ran it one second slower than my best - Ho hum, need to be a bit more pushy on the start line I think, spent the whole time overtaking.

  1. That floor looks great! I've got a few projects this weekend:

bike - clean, degrease, lube, change tyres, new brake pads, etc.
spare room - paint skirting, wallpaper.

Just glad I finished all that Christmas shopping last month! ;-)

  2. Looks good! Shame you couldn't save the hand though. It'll have to come off.

  3. It's ok, it's not the 'important one'!
    ;o)

Hmm, not a bad chore list but what are you going to do with the afternoon?

  4. Not the 'important one'!!!! Ohhh! Well that IS good to know!! ;-)

Listne, that looks incredibly sore. You need to head down to your local Boots The Chemist [I worked for them for 2 years, I know what I am on about!"] and get something for that hand. Or try some aloe vera -- that's very good.

By the way, those are fantastically beautiful floors, Gavin. I am impressed [again again] :-)

  5. Nah, It's not that bad, once I got all the glue and stuff cleaned off it looked a lot better! Knuckles a bit sore still though - looks like I've been bare knuckle boxing.

Thanks, this room looks absurdly large at the moment, with one floor throughout and not much furniture. I'll start putting some kitchen stuff together tomorrrow to see what it looks like.

  6. So it looked a lot worse than it was -- that's good to hear :-) And the hand does not have to come off, I take it -- despite James' opinion. LOL!

James: you're the 'dramatic' [Drama Queen?] one of the Thomson Brothers, are you not? ;-)

How long is that room, btw? Perhaps it's just the angle that the photo is taken from, but that looks incredibly long like....

  7. 8.5 metres! But then that's because I knocked down the dividing wall between the lounge and kitchen...

  8. Oh fine now thanks, few scrapes and blood blisters from careless hammer work but at least the kitchen's coming along!

    :o)
