So, after my camera plus most other electrical goods I own inexplicably developing faults all at the same time, the said camera has now disappeared on its way to the service centre! Good thing I paid the insurance... If it's lost for good I'll just have to get something smaller and better. :o)

Any news on its sudden disappearance?
ReplyDeleteAh, they found the camera and then tried to charge me £130 to fix it. After some 'negotiation' they agreed to warranty it after all. :o)
ReplyDeleteHehe -- good for you!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI see they offered you the usual customer "service" before you told them where to stick it! ;-)
One question: negotiation = turning green?
Sequence of events so far:
ReplyDeletePost camera
Check camera received - Told not
Request proof of delivery from post office
Receive estimate/bill for camera
Query estimate, get it warrantied
Recieve POD from postoffice.
Is it me?!?
Argghh it's all nonsense. Madness. Just make sure you log every communication with each party - phone call, email, post with date and time and what was stated/agreed. And be nice to the people you speak to, as the incompetency is almost certainly nothing to do with them. Say things like, "I wonder if you can help me, I don't know what else to do". It'll sort itself out eventually.
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry, it's all logged...
ReplyDeleteGrrr.
Still the levels of incompetence encountered so far are trifling compared to the boiler repair saga but that's too stressful to even think about right now!
